Inventor Allen Humphrey
The first Go-Kid was built in January of 2001 by inventor Allen Humphrey. Allen saw the need for a newer, safer fitness vehicle than what was available. He had been building Boy Scout "Pushmobiles" for his son's cub scout troop. Adapting the design for a single rider, Allen began cutting and welding the first Go-Kid. The imaginative, yet simple design that ensued is the product of much research and development. Over time, the original model evolved into a smooth riding experience with a unique style. In January of 2002, with an electric motor that would travel up to 10 mph, the first Equad hit the streets. This new Equad would allow an additional fun side to the original Go-Kid. In March of 2002, Allen approached the Mascot Coordinator for the Houston Texans with the idea of Go-Kid as Toro's on field vehicle. The Go-Kid made such an impression on the Texan's team that other NFL mascots began to hear about it. In August of 2002, K.C. Wolf of the Kansas City Chiefs will have his own two-motor Equad to amaze fans at that venue. |
